The 2026 China Zhejiang · Ningbo Talent, Science and Technology Week opened on September 20, 2026. Dou Xiankang, a member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Wang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, delivered remarks. Shen Mingquan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee and Mayor of Ningbo, and other officials attended the opening ceremony. The event included the entry ceremony for the Ningbo–Hong Kong Innovation Center’s first cohort of talent-led science and technology projects. The Smart Twistlock Robotics for Port Terminals project, now carried forward by GANGRUI INTELLIGENCE, joined the Hong Kong R&D Park as one of the first projects, with company representatives taking part in the entry ceremony.
According to event coverage published by Ningbo Zugong, the first cohort spans the Ningbo Industrial Park and the Hong Kong R&D Park, with projects in sensors, advanced materials, robotics and other fields. The port-terminal smart twistlock robotics project makes intelligent port operations one of the concrete application areas of this Ningbo–Hong Kong innovation collaboration.
The Ningbo–Hong Kong Innovation Center connects Hong Kong’s research and international resources with Ningbo’s manufacturing ecosystem and industrial applications. Public reporting states that the center will support project recruitment, financing, technology transfer and talent services, helping facilitate exchange and connections between research and industry.
GANGRUI INTELLIGENCE focuses on real industrial applications, combining AI perception and decision-making with deterministic execution as its engineering approach. Its WiseportX brand serves smart ports, with IRUS-CTU focused on container twistlock operations; Lingji serves industrial automation. Starting from specific processes and on-site requirements, the company will advance R&D, validation and discussions on practical applications.
Joining the center gives GANGRUI INTELLIGENCE a new starting point for connecting research resources in Ningbo and Hong Kong with industrial needs. The company will continue sharing engineering progress on port robotics to help partners understand the project’s direction and collaboration needs.
